Schmierer, Aaron, and Jung all have an aspect of their artwork that I find inspiring which I can use to create an artwork of my own. Schmierer's work has lots and lots of many different patterns which I find oddly satisfying because the patterns don't fit perfectly together but it looks great when they are applied to a ceramic piece. I can use the idea of incorporating different patterns for my next piece. Aaron has a very simplistic sense of style when it comes to art. He uses very simple colors and shapes to make the artwork look simplistic but also eye-catching at the same time. I can use simplicity in my artwork to make mine look simplistic but eye catching as well. Lastly, Jung's artwork involves a lot of free form pieces with a smooth texture. I like the idea of not having a specific form and just making the form be abstract. I would want to incorporate that idea into my niece piece of work.

Libby Oliver is a photographer who focused on incorporating every piece of clothing of one's wardrobe as one of her projects. I chose this artwork because it is somewhat fashion related and fashion is something that I'm interested in and passionate about. I like the different color schemes of everyone's wardrobe and the contrast between simple and technical colors. I do see some items of clothing that I like which is also another reason why I chose this artwork. I chose this artist because I liked the idea of including every item of one's wardrobe because the clothing one wears is a factor that defines one's personality and character. The concept of wearable about (fashion/clothes) is something that I can and will most likely incorporate into my own work because fashion is something that I'm interested. I also believe the idea of involving humans into art is a great idea.
Neha Kudchadkar is an inspiring artist because of her connection of ceramics and the human body. The way she incorporates the art of both the body and ceramic is genius. My favorite piece of hers is the one where she makes the connection with her feet and nature using the roots of a tree to say that her feet are roots too. I also like how she uses most parts of the body to demonstrate her pieces instead of being focused on just one part of the body. Like Neha, I too want to incorporate ceramic with the human body, but in a fashion sense. I want to make fashionable pieces of jewelry and other items out of ceramic.
Jun Kaneko is a contemporary ceramic artist. He uses different patterns such as stripes, polka-dots, and checkerboard in his work. Primary colors can be seen in his artwork as well as black and white. He makes huge vase-like pieces which he designs with different patterns. He also creates these head figures which he designs with the striped pattern and a splat-like illusion using the primary colors. I find his art work visually appealing because it's simple but also amazing to look at. I'm a huge fan of contemporary art work so I find lots of inspiration from Kaneko.
Jennifer McCurdy is a visual artist. She likes to make her sculptures realistic and visually appealing. As you can see, she uses porcelain clay a lot more than the stoneware clay we use in class. The type of artwork that she produces takes a lot of time to perfect, which makes her a perfectionist. It is very detailed and you can tell that she is extremely skilled and has been doing this for a long time. Most of her pieces are done on hand thrown on the wheel. She relates her pieces to parts of nature.
